Rework and Repair of PCBA's
GHMJ PCB rework will always be a part of our lives.Rework
is one of the most unpredictable and variable parts of the PCB
assembly process. In fact, no other single function in the
assembly process negatively affects profitability more than
rework.
In the past, costs of doing rework were difficult
to track since labor, equipment and WIP in the rework process were
not costly and could be "swept under the table". With today's new
and complex packages, rework has taken on a completely new
meaning. The equipment, training and engineering support required
is costing electronic assemblers millions, not to mention the
damage/scrap that is being generated. Additionally, the "Time To
Market" factor is costly by keeping a large amount of boards in
work-in-progress to be reworked, unable to reach final markets.
This is especially true in the communications, computer and
telecom sectors where product life cycles are short. Successful
companies are beginning to realize that the high cost of rework
can be kept in check by outsourcing some of their rework tasks.
Experience
Our Contract Rework/Repair Division has the ability
to provide expert rework, repair, and ECO modifications to your
PCBs, as well as prototype runs. Our state of the art equipment
and IPC certified operators insure the work done on your PCBs will
be done quickly, correctly and reliably. 100% guaranteed. GHMJ has
performed rework/repair services for projects ranging from 1 board
to 1,000 boards, and guarantees that 100% of your boards will be
returned to you without damage. We have saved our customers
millions of dollars by assisting them with the rework/repair
process and providing fast, reliable service. Because of our
specialized processes in rework and repair, our operators' output
per person far exceeds that of in-house operators. Compare your
fully burdened overhead rate of rework/repair to our per board
price - you'll be surprised.

Staff
GHMJ Our rework & repair associates are
experienced professionals with a minimum of 2 years of
rework/repair experience. Not only are they certified to IPC and
standards, they also receive specific application training on a
day-to-day basis from our IPC Class A Certified Master
Instructors. We are confident in our staff and their ability to
manage your most demanding projects.
Quality
GHMJ has made an in the most advanced and
versatile rework/repair equipment currently available. We only
use equipment which allows for strict process control, and each
solder joint is inspected by the operator and QA technician. All
rework and repair is performed in accordance with IPC,
guidelines for Rework, Repair, and Modification of Printed
Boards and Electronic Assemblies. All boards are inspected in
accordance with IPC, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
Commitment
After we have performed your rework project, our
service does not end there! GHMJ, in conjunction with one of our
largest customers, has developed the theory of Rework Management
& Optimization. In summary, Rework Management and Optimization
involves implementing the correct mix of Equipment, Training and
Outsourcing to maximize your internal resources. Your current
process is analyzed and a framework is provided to increase
productivity, decrease scrap/damage, quickly move WIP to final
goods, and dramatically reduce the overall cost of doing rework.
GHMJ will help you implement this process and assist if needed.
To learn more,
Inspection
GHMJ offers a variety of analytical testing
services to help you spot and trend defects, process or part
changes. Visual, Endoscopic, and inspection, as well as dye and
pry inspection services are offered by GHMJ in order to help you
diagnose and troubleshoot and sort out a variety of defects. Our
highly trained staff is able to assist you in analyzing specific
defects.
Visual "Referee" Inspection
GHMJ can be your "referee" resource when
clarification is required regarding a PCB or wire harness
acceptance standard interpretation. Our Master Instructors, who
are military trained and have been Master Instructors for the
IPC courses for many years can provide a "third set of eyes"
when an issue arises in the PCB assembly process. We can provide
a detailed report for refereeing purposes. When you need an
outside expert opinion, or when you need to determine the
existence of a PCB assembly process problem.
Rework
Our GHMJ Training Division has some of the most
experienced instructors in the industry and provides training to
standards such as IPC or your specific, internal standard. SMT,
Advanced SMT and ESD.Rework classes are all taught by
instructors who not only know the material, but have also
performed the techniques thousands of times themselves on our
customer's boards to prove their "real life" effectiveness. GHMJ
has performed IPC and Custom Solder Training Courses for
customers throughout the such as many more.
ESD Courses
Based on ESD Guidelines
These classes cover the basic
concepts of ESD, how it occurs, proper precautionary measures
required to avoid electronic damage to sensitive electronic
components, how to control ESD
by working in ESD protected areas and
workstations, proper mitigation techniques, proper handling
techniques and use of personal grounding devices. More advanced
coursework is available upon request. Students will receive a
certificate of completion from BEST. We can also help you set up
your EOS/ESD program, provide training for your instructors or
provide EOS/ESD audits.
